System Error is a label, event organizer and artist collective based in Xi’an China.  For those living the American dream, Xi’an might only conjure images of the famed Terracotta Warriors or inspire images of ancient past civilizations, but a new generation of young and enthusiastic artists have endeavored to challenge China’s Western frontier with their own vision of experimental music.

  At the core of this community is promoter Feng Fan, multi-tasking musician Xie Bo Han from Colorful Z-Bra and Bias, Da Zhao, d.j. and synth player for local electro rock icons TBOR and mutant folk-ster Zhang Yang Guo . 



  Their series of experimental music events has attempted to open up Xi’an to new and locally unheard of musical forms.  Ultimately, they’d love to join the ranks of the few, but appreciated Chinese weirdo music series mainstays, but are proud to bring their vision to a small group of the chosen few.

  In 2012, they erected a noise stage for the Zhang Guan Li Dai music festival.  They hope to return this year as well as expand beyond their primary venue, Aperture Club inside Xi’an’s ancient city walls.  

  They have just celebrated their first year of existence with the release of the “Intellectual Property Rights” compilations cd.  The disc  was released in China on December 29, 2012 and now will be made available for free as a digital release in the USA and Europe from Polyglot.
